Hanmaum Seon Center of
Gwangju
Hanmaum Seon Center of Gwangju is dedicated to helping all beings learn to rely upon and discover their inherent Buddha-nature. In so doing they can discover this interconnected whole that we call Hanmaum, or one mind. In awakening to this and learning to live in tune with it, each of us can go forward on our own path of spiritual evolution with energy, wisdom, and as a blessing to all around us.
Our Gwangju center is a place for daily life practice, serving as a spiritual home for people throughout the Gwangju and Jeolla regions.
You’ll find us in the Sangmu district, right in the heart of the city, so we’re easy to get to. But even here in the city, our center is wrapped in
trees, and you can always hear the sound of birdsong—a little oasis of calm.
The center is guided by a warm community, led by our abbot, Hye Wol Sunim, along with resident teachers Hye Jeon Sunim and Hye Eon
Sunim. They are joined by our devoted lay advisors and leaders, who all work together with one heart to make this center a true place of
light and daily practice for the entire region.
