Hanmaum Seon Center of Washington D.C. is dedicated to helping all beings learn to rely upon and discover their inherent Buddha-nature. In so doing they can discover this interconnected whole that we call Hanmaum, or one mind. In awakening to this and learning to live in tune with it, each of us can go forward on our own path of spiritual evolution with energy, wisdom, and as a blessing to all around us.
Since its opening on November 27, 1994, the Hanmaum Seon Center of Washington, D.C. has served as a place of Seon (Zen) practice in daily life, guiding people to awaken to their true nature. The center helps individuals discover the true nature they are inherently endowed with and realize that truth through mindful practice in everyday living.
Located near the capital of the United States, a place where diverse races, religions, and cultures coexist, the center embodies the spirit of harmony by sharing sincere hearts with people of all backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and respect.
At the center, special emphasis is placed on Dharma gatherings for children and youth, helping young people navigate a challenging world with greater wisdom and hope for a brighter future. Through Dharma talks for English speakers, the center also strives to serve as a guide for all truth-seekers in the community.
Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen our connection with the local community by offering a variety of practice programs that share the compassion and wisdom of One Mind.
To all who seek inner peace and truth, you are warmly welcome!
