Hanmaum Seon Center of Mokpo is dedicated to helping all beings learn to rely upon and discover their inherent Buddha-nature. In so doing they can discover this interconnected whole that we call Hanmaum, or one mind. In awakening to this and learning to live in tune with it, each of us can go forward on our own path of spiritual evolution with energy, wisdom, and as a blessing to all around us.
At Korea's southwestern tip, in this historic port city known for arts and culture, Seon Master Daehaeng's guidance and earnest seeking hearts finally bloomed into our dharma home in November 1998. From the moment we opened, families formed dharma groups – young adults, married couples, youth and children ̶ all forming communities and walking forward together. Here where islands meet the mainland, we practice the truth that your mind and Buddha's mind were never separate to begin with.
