Hanmaum Seon Center of Los Angeles is dedicated to helping all beings learn to rely upon and discover their inherent Buddha-nature. In so doing they can discover this interconnected whole that we call Hanmaum, or one mind. In awakening to this and learning to live in tune with it, each of us can go forward on our own path of spiritual evolution with energy, wisdom, and as a blessing to all around us.
Seon Master Daehaeng began imparting her spiritual wisdom through multiple Dharma sessions when invited to the Continent of America by Korean immigrants since the mid-1980s.
Deeply moved by their zeal and sincerity to learn the Buddha’s teachings despite the toils of being estranged from their homeland, Master Daehaeng taught her audience how to cultivate mind and discover their inherent Buddha Natures,thereby helping them to sprout the seed that would. blossom into the foundation of our center in LA in 1989.
At this Hanmaum Seonwon in Los Angeles, we honor Seon Master Daehaeng’s words of wisdom which emphasize looking inwardly to find one’s mind’s treasure instead of looking for external solutions.
At our center in LA, we are furthering our practice to discover our own bright nature by regarding all of life’s troubles as the materials for our mind cultivation.
