Hanmaum Seon Center of Chicago is dedicated to helping all beings learn to rely upon and discover their inherent Buddha-nature. In so doing they can discover this interconnected whole that we call Hanmaum, or one mind. In awakening to this and learning to live in tune with it, each of us can go forward on our own path of spiritual evolution with energy, wisdom, and as a blessing to all around us.
One early spring in 1991, a spark of Dharma took root in the Windy City. It has blossomed into the Hanmaum Seon Center of Chicago, a place where people can kindle that inner light—again and again—until it grows bright and steady within.
We believe that everyone carries a bright flame inside, and here, we welcome all who want to uncover it. The door is wide open, and we’re here to walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery and inner peace.
We truly believe that together, we can burn away the burdens that weigh us down, and help others light their own path as well. In this shared effort, we can create a world filled with more freedom, joy, and mutual care. When we do this together, anything is possible.
